It is our mission to use our training, experience and expertise to help patients in successfully managing their pain problems. Managing pain should involve a long-term strategy and this involves making a diagnosis, identify the factors that are driving the pain and managing it with multi-modal treatment options whilst respecting the choices of the patient. We support in educating our patients to understand the mechanism of their pain so that they can manage the pain better with the help of professional support from the Pain consultants. We believe that no person should suffer due to pain and we can help most patients in alleviating their pain and suffering.

What to expect from your first appointment?

On your first visit to the Pain Management clinic, you will be see by one of our Consultants in Pain Management who will carry out a comprehensive assessment of your pain and how it impacts on you and your life. We encourage you to provide as much information as possible so that we can tailor the treatment plan according to your situation. Once we establish a diagnosis for your pain, your consultant would discuss various treatment options and recommendations and with your involvement, decide on the best course of action. Your Pain Management Consultant would liaise with your GP, other specialists and healthcare professionals to ensure that continuing care and support is maintained.

    Treatment options in Pain Management

Your Pain consultant would discuss a multimodal approach to best manage your pain. This could involve painkillers and specific medications for nerve pain and others to address specific symptoms. We believe in ensuring the best results for pain relief with minimal side-effects using the smallest effective dose and ensuring that we can use the medications in the long term safely if required. Use of strong opioids and neuropathic pain medications should not be used without appropriate medical supervision and is generally not recommended for the long term management of most pain conditions. The aim would be to reduce the reliance on medications with other treatments including nerve blocks, targeted interventions and a holistic approach. Happy Patients

I just had the otoplasty procedure at MACS clinic in Watford. From the initial consultation through to the surgery itself, I felt totally looked after by the brilliant staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the clinic is very nice and I felt at ease at all times. Mr Vadodaria was very thorough, reassuring and happy to answer any questions and the surgery itself was painless. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the clinic to anyone!
