To help us assess you accurately before your consultation, please follow this guide when taking your photographs. High-quality, standardised images allow us to give safe, reliable advice and avoid delays.
1. General Instructions for All Areas
✔ Background
- Stand against a plain, light-coloured wall (white/cream preferred).
- Avoid patterned walls, furniture, or shadows.
✔ Lighting
- Please switch flash ON.
- Stand facing a natural light source if possible (window daylight).
- Avoid overhead yellow lights which distort colour.
✔ Distance & Framing
- Keep the camera 1–1.5 metres away.
- Ensure the full area of interest is visible.
- Ask someone to help take the photographs where possible.
✔ Orientation
- Please take photos in portrait (vertical) unless stated otherwise.
- Keep camera at your eye level or chest level depending on the body area.
✔ Clothing / Accessories
- Remove makeup, glasses, jewellery, hair covering the face or ears.
- Wear comfortable, neutral clothing or undergarments for body photographs.
✔ Image Quality
- Use the rear camera (higher resolution).
- Avoid filters, portrait mode, editing, or beauty-enhancing features.
2. FACE & NECK PHOTOGRAPHS
(Rhinoplasty, Facelift, Chin/Jawline, Eyelids, Prominent Ear)
Please provide 6 standard views:
- Front view – looking straight ahead, neutral expression
- Left ¾ view
- Right ¾ view
- Left profile
- Right profile
- Base view (optional for nose) – head tilted slightly back, showing nostrils
Tips:
- Tie hair back fully.
- Keep mouth relaxed and teeth not clenched.
Ensure ears are fully visible for otoplasty cases.

3. NOSE (RHINOPLASTY) PHOTOGRAPHS
Provide the 6 standard rhinoplasty views:
- Frontal
- Left ¾
- Right ¾
- Left profile
- Right profile
- Basal (upward) view – tilt head back gently
Ensure:
- Camera at nose height
- Flash ON to avoid shadows
- No smiling or eyebrow lifting

4. BREAST PHOTOGRAPHS
(Augmentation, Uplift, Reduction, Asymmetry)
Please send 5 standard views:
- Front view – arms relaxed by the sides
- Left ¾ view
- Right ¾ view
- Left lateral (side) view
- Right lateral (side) view
Tips:
- Take photos without bra or inner wear to show natural shape (if you are comfortable).
- Avoid raising arms.
Ensure clavicles down to the upper abdomen are visible.

5. ABDOMEN / FLANKS PHOTOGRAPHS
(Liposuction, Mini-Abdominoplasty, Scar assessment)
Please provide 5 views:
- Front view
- Left ¾ view
- Right ¾ view
- Left side view
- Right side view
Tips:
- Include area from chest to upper thighs.
Hold phone at bellybutton level.

6. EXTERNAL GENITALIA (for labiaplasty / male genital concerns)
Please provide the following:
For Female External Genitalia
- Front view (standing)
- Close-up front view
- Left angled view
- Right angled view
- Seated frog-leg position view (optional but useful)
For Male External Genitalia
- Front view
- Left angled view
- Right angled view
- Close-up of area of concern
Tips:
- Ensure privacy and comfort.
- Use flash ON.
- Trim hair if necessary for visibility, but do not shave if uncomfortable.
Ensure the photos are taken at skin level, not from above.

7. How to Send Your Images Securely
- Please send the photographs via our secure clinic email / portal (add your specific instructions here).
- Include your full name, date of birth, and planned procedure.
Images are kept strictly confidential as part of your medical record.
8. Summary
“Please take medical photographs following the attached MCAS Clinic guidelines:
– Plain background
– Flash ON
– Six facial views / five breast or abdomen views / specified genital views
– Use rear camera
– No filters or makeup
